Is it just me or has there been less of a hype for trick or treating?

like the last time i have actually went door to door trick or treating was nearly 7 years ago, and now i am much too old to go trick or treating... anyways, today me and a friend decided to go trick or treating today... just for the hell of it and i noticed 1) not a lot of kiddies out there 2) not a lot of houses giving out candy
