My Camellia tree seems to be dying - help!?

Hi, I live in London, and have a beautiful pink Camellia tree in a small sheltered north-facing garden in a raised bed. I have lived in the flat ten years, and it was well established when I arrived. It is about 2m high. Since I moved in, it has flowered every year, and grown and looked very healthy. In 2008, I bought a bag of camellia fertiliser and dug it in the soil. Over this winter (2009/10) it produced more buds than I have ever seen before. I was expecting a huge spring of flowers. However, in the last couple of months, the buds have been falling off unopened. leaves are turning brown and falling off. All I could think of was that we had a long and cold winter in the UK this year. I have read some advice online, and checked for spiders under the leaves, and found none. In the last week I have also loosened up the soil around it in case of root rot. I am thinking of now digging a trench next to it to increase drainage, and maybe digging a lot of soil from around it and replacing it with camellia fertilizer. Having said that, the tree thrived for a decade without any intervention, so I cant see how it can be a soil problem. I would appreciate any advice you have. It is such a beautiful tree, and I want to do anything I can to save it. thanks. Chris

Daughter on new inhaler?

my 4 year old is asthmatic is on 3 puffs of brown inhaler 50mg And singular granules 4mg at night but at new year she was really ill with her asthma plus she had a chest infection she had to go on steroid tabs and antibiotics she was on the steroid tabs for 6 days and the antibiotics for 7days she has now got over this but because im having to give her the blue inhaler every 4 hours without hardly any effect my gp put my daughter on a green inhaler which is a longer acting reliever she has been on this since Friday and is still coughing at night i spoke to my daughters health visitor as i wondered if i cud up it 2 2 puffs morning and night as im not seeing any improvement in my daughters symptoms and it says on the leaflet that came with the inhaler children 4 years and over 2 puffs twice a day this inhaler comes in 2 strength 25mg and 50mg so even if i upped it she would be on 100mg she also has caught a cold so that wont help should i talk to my doctor about upping it as my daughter doesn't see her respiratory specialist till next month am also asthmatic so i know how inhalers work

I haven't visited any of those schools, but I can tell you as an out-of-stater that I respect Hofstra, while knowing that there are much better schools in NYC, and respect Syracuse also. My impression of the SUNY system is that they're the equivalent of the Cal State system--very easy to get into colleges surrounded by much stronger schools.

Help with plastic taste in water cooler.?

i bought one of those water coolers that you put the big jug of water in top of and then it cools it (like the water things that they have in businesses) well anyways it had this awful plastic taste in the water so i filled it with water and viniger. i forgot that it had stuff in it and so when i remembered 3 months later i went to drain it and there was mold in the water and viniger. what can i clean it with that will get out the mold? and what else can i try and get the plastic taste out with? is the mold dangerous to drink if there is still some in it. Help with school bus?

What you are trying to do is so admirable! Being a person who is nice to everybody is the best person that you can be. The problem is that you cannot control other people no matter what you do or say. I understand why you don't want to involve adults but with girls this age you can't exactly sit down with them and have a mature rational discussion such as you would be capable of. It sounds like Lyssa is going to end up getting kicked off the bus route anyway.....or put into a different school for making trouble. So, the only thing that I could think of would be to get a number of guys who ride the bus who get on before they do - to block out the seats for you. They have to be a group of guys who would be difficult for Lyssa to intimidate. Then, when you and your friends get on - they let you have your seats. You need an advocate to help you and your friends stand up for yourselves and not be afraid. Do remember, that there is such a thing as peacefully standing your ground. That's what Martin Luther King Jr. was all about. No one can let another person kick you out of your seat but YOU. If they put a hand on you or push - that is harrment and they can get kicked off the bus route for that. Just make sure you have friends who will witness for you on what they do if they try to force you to move. There is no way you can convince a person to be friends and make everybody nice without an adult enforcing some major consequences for misbehavior. That is a lesson Lyssa should have learned in Kindergarten and she doesn't seem to have matured much since. You are one of the nicest kids around - that's why they are pushing you around so much - because they know you will let them. They know that this bothers you and so they enjoy your reaction. It's completely immature on their part but you need to stand your ground peacefully rather than just give in. If they can't handle that and physically push you or hurt you - then they will end up in trouble.

LUG LOCK REMOVAL....?

I bought a Silverado that has lug locks on ALL 6 lugs on EVERY wheel. I searched the truck high and low and have not found the lock. I went back to the dealership and they told me that they could not help. Does anyone know how to get them off or where I can find a universal lug lock removal kit that works? I have the locks that looks like a long lug with notches that run down the whole thing. I dont know if that makes a difference.

my baby is only 1 week old today and is waking up every 30-40 minutes during the night to feed. Me n my partner have tried to settle her by cuddles and just close contact but it doesnt work. My partner is Feeding and baby seems to have a really good feed everytime but we cannot get any sleep at all. Is it worth puting her on C&G infant formula for hungrier babies?

Girlfriend won't file for divorce?

If he is so toxic why would she want to continue being connected to him? Many lawyers will take a payment plan for divorce. I was in a similar situation (separated and living with my BF) while my divorce was going through. I know it bothered him as well, and I had already filed the papers. The lawyer will be able to divide any ets and set up child support which may actually help your financial situation. It is just a piece of paper, but to me she is saying that you are not worth her divorcing the husband. Divorce is hard and messy, I know, but she will be so glad once it's over with. Good luck!!

What do you use to entertain your 3 month old baby?

My son will be 3 months old on May 4th. So far he needs a lot of stimulation. On rare occasions he can be entertained for several minutes with his Fisher Price Ocean Wonders mobile and his Baby Einstein DVD. But that lasts less than 10 minutes and even then it is rare that it works. I have a bouncer and a swing for him...and an activity mat...but those don't seem to work at all. Is he just too young to be entertained by these things? I love my baby and I'm not working right now so I don't have a problem spending all of this time with him...but I feel bad letting him cry while I spend the 10-15 minutes a day washing his bottles. Any ideas or suggestions?

What is wrong with my 98 ford windstar ac only blows from defrost on vents?

Sounds like the motor in the blend door is not working. There is a box under the dash that directs the air to the selected ducts. A door moves in the box to direct the air and is powered by a small electric servo. Not sure if this vehicle is old enough but some are also operated by vacuum. Either way you are looking at having to get up under the dash to find the final culprit.

I have that problem too but just let it cycle for a couLe days. Often time the ammonia may be slightly elevated even though it's a new tank so get ur water tested at your local petstore or test it yourself with a good quality reputable brand (it's tempting but seriously don't get the cheapest one as the results can be inaccurate) you can try use a water clarifier but if it doesn't clear up in 5-7 days I would try a water change and refill it with PURIFIED water. (try water from the 99 cent store but check the date) and add some water conditioner but u don't need as much just a little to catch any little bits of metals or chlorine. Good luck!

I have owned only Toyota's for cars and Ford's for truck and I am a girl. I have been treated very well at both dealers no real rip offs. Hi. I recently left my phone out in the rain all night accidentally. I tried drying it out under the hairdryer, then airdrying for three days. It is completely toasted. Need help/ mental problem with dancing?

I am 18 years old. I never liked dancing before because I sucked at it. I always avoided dancing at parties. I knew I was always bad when I tried. Last year, my date to junior prom LEFT ME because she said I was a bad dancer. She danced with some other guy all night and left me alone. Since then, I nearly tear whenever I dance. How do you reinstall loose ceramic tiles on a bathroom floor?

I have large (8in x 8in) ceramic tiles on my bathroom floor that came loose. The grout is cracked and now water that splashes out of my shower stall gets underneath it. I don't want mold to develop under the tiles. I want to know how I can fix the tiles permanently and prevent water from getting underneath them. What's wrong with me!? PLEASE HELP!?

For the past couple days now, off and on, I have felt some slight burning/irritation right after I urinate. I've had plenty of UTI's before, and I'm certain it isn't an STD because I've actually only slept with one person (still with him), and he's clean. engine pings about 45mph under light load or going up small hill. ping will stop if i step down and it downshifts to lower gear. have tried additive: still pings. ping will stop if i use higher octane gas, but dont want to do this all the time. was told it may be air flow sensor. is there anything i can do to clean the sensor or otherwise fix this problem. dont want to take to shop and have them throw parts at the problem. thanks for any help.

If you can move it, then it's very probably not broken. You probably jammed / sprained it. The best thing to do is apply a splint, using popsicle sticks taped together against the finger, or tape the bad finger to a good finger. You should still be able to go to Busch Gardens.

I have a 98 isuzu rodeo and my battery keeps dying...?

i took it to the mechanic and they changed out the alternator and it ran fine around a week, then it happened again,so i took it back and he said it was a faulty alternator and we got a new batt and changed alternator again...ran fine another couple weeks and it happened AGAIN! he did a check of the electrical and couldnt find a draw so we did the alternator once again, the alternators are testing at 14.5 when they go in and then they are testing at 13 when the battery is dying...well it happened a 4th time the other day. I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!! what can be causing this problem???

Drainage from big toe?!?

So around the end of June 08 i got a dark bruise on my right toe (bottom, right side of nail) then a few days to a week later my left toe was feeling sore (probably from new shoes i wore) and after that my left toe bruised also. This bruise was not as dark but covered more of my toe ( the left side of it). My left toe continued to feel sore and still does! Still feels sensitive when i touch the nail and 2 days ago there was a spot on my sock after work but I ignored it. Now I'm at school and i realized some dried blood around my toe and when i checked it out i realized my toe was draining clear fluid! I went to the bathroom and drained what i could (from the top left corner of my nail). Now i feel the discomfort when i walk, maybe from draining what was filled before....what do i do!??!

My textile and apparel bachelor degree has gotten me no where..?

I have a bachelor degree from Michigan State University in textile and apparel studies. I know this can be a hard degree to find a decent job in... but I guess we all make mistakes with our major. The only job offers I have received since graduating (last year) are retail jobs at places like Pacsun or Forever 21. I am thinking about going back to school.... this degree has gotten me nowhere. So far they've had a great offseason. They fixed the QB issue by bringing in Pro Bowl QB Jay Cutler, they fixed that horrible OL by signing Orlando Pace, Kevin Schaffer, and Frank Omiyale. Imagine what Matt Forte can do now. He had a 1,000+ yard rookie season with a horrible OL, and now that it's a lot better he'll be a top notch running back. They boosted their LB corps by signing Pisa Tinoisamoa, and they also had a great draft. The WR corps could use a little help but I think the moves they made this offseason will definitely help the team and make them a contender.
